經福爾摩沙秀(FORMOSA SHOW)是為英國一年一度最重要的台灣藝術設計活動，隸屬於英國創意經濟協會（Creative Enterprise Organisation），期望以福爾摩沙秀(FORMOSA SHOW)藝文展覽活動推廣台灣文化創意產業，促進台灣文化創意工作者與國際交流，提供新一代台灣藝術家與設計師向國際創意產業發聲的平台。繼2010年「Ban-Doh•辦桌 @ FORMOSA」台灣藝術設計聯展空前迴響，「FORMOSA SHOW 福爾摩沙秀 100」台灣設計展計畫目前正積極籌備，預計配合2011年倫敦設計節（London Design Festival）於今年9月在倫敦Candid Art Trusts Gallery舉辦為期五天的展出。因此，我們將於2011年5月21日，星期六，上午10點30分，在倫敦藝術大學（University of Art London）舉辦志工暨合作夥伴招募說明會，在此敬邀所有熱愛Taiwanese Design的朋友，務必撥空參加。謹訂於2011年5月21日 星期六 上午十點三十分，於272 High Holborn,WC1V 7EY London 倫敦藝術大學（University of Art London）舉辦「FORMOSA SHOW福爾摩沙秀 100」台灣設計展覽計畫說明會 敬備 茶水點心，恭請蒞臨指導。  www.formosashow.co.uk

2011年英國臺灣電影節(Taiwan Cinefest)五月即將再度登場
駐英國臺北代表處與倫敦Cinefest Productions 合作舉辦第三屆
「臺灣電影節」(Taiwan
舉行，放映父後七日(Seven days in Heaven)、不能沒有你(No
Puedo Vivir Sin Ti)、艋舺(Monga)、戀愛通告(Love in Disguise)
等4部劇情片及8部臺灣新導演之短片，並將邀請獲金馬獎
「最佳改編劇本」獎之「父後七日」編劇兼導演劉梓潔來英
參加影展相關活動。

部營造出生死對比之黑色幽默喜劇。本片除獲邀參加2010年
加拿大溫哥華影展、日本福岡影展、香港電影節等多項國際
影展外，並獲第47屆金馬獎「最佳男配角」及「最佳改編劇
本」。
Piccadilly戲院播映的開幕影片「父後七
「不能沒有你」是由演而優則導的戴立忍所執導的第二部劇
情長片，是一部由臺灣真實社會事件改編之作品，敘述一個
在港邊討生活的男子與其七歲非婚生女兒因法律問題所產生
患難與共的親密感，全片充滿溫暖及關懷，並獲金馬獎「最
佳劇情片」、「最佳導演」等五項大獎之肯定。
由「豆導」紐承澤執導、阮經天及趙又廷主演的「艋舺」，
敘述艋舺(萬華)地區一段幫派往事及五個少年的愛恨情仇，重
現八十年代臺灣黑幫的肅殺氛圍，是一部票房及口碑兼具的
電影，除了賣座突破新台幣二億五千萬元外，也受到德國柏
林影展、日本東京影展等國際影展的青睞，及金馬獎「最佳
男主角」等三項大獎的肯定。
「戀愛通告」一片則是由實力創作歌手王力宏挑戰大銀幕之
導演處女作，他並親自擔綱演出男主角，與大陸女星劉亦菲
及金馬影后陳沖有精彩之對手戲，是一部充滿年輕人活力及
結合音樂元素的青春勵志喜劇電影。這3部影片將分別於27日
及28日兩天在倫敦大學Birkbeck戲院放映。
本次「臺灣電影節」除上述4部劇情片之放映外，5月
27日亦將在倫敦大學Goldsmiths學院辦理「New
Showcase」單元，放映臺灣新秀導演拍攝的八部短片。有

FORMOSA SHOW

話說08年倫敦的夏天，一群在英國留學的台灣設計師前輩們發起了這項聯展”Formosa Fantasia”，並參與了倫敦設計節。展覽中，這些設計師們以面對英國的體驗加以挪移、錯置、融合、美化，解放了自己，完成一個個讓人莞爾一笑的設計作品，那年， Formosa Fantasia 得到了許多的支持與熱烈的迴響。2010年六月初夏，另一個概念企劃 – FORMOSA SHOW，將站在巨人的肩膀上，再次聯合台灣精銳藝術家與設計師，在London Angel 的Candid Arts 展出。

2010年06月09-13日，「Ban-Doh．辦桌@ FORMOSA」台灣藝術與設計聯展不但得到更多外國人的重視，開幕式當天一共吸引了超過百位的外國人，當中包括了電影界、設計界、藝術界等…不同領域的專業人士，也旋風式地在華人世界裡渲染開來。五天的展覽中，吸引了約莫一千五百人次參觀人潮。

2010年10月24日，在英國台灣婦女會與英國台灣協會特別邀請下，召集二十位台灣設計藝術新星，以平面影像方式，藉由台灣小吃節十週年的機會舉辦了「辦桌藝術與設計展」，希望讓上回錯過台灣藝術家與設計師掌廚的朋友們，可以再度與觀眾大啖創意的美味。由台灣藝術家與設計師聯手掌廚的「飲藝術、食設計」，豐盛美味的辦桌饗宴「辦」出一「桌」令觀者耳目一新的「台灣味」。在倫敦Westminster Academy舉辦的第十屆「故鄉風味．台灣情」台灣小吃節（Taiwanese Food Fete）中，再次擺上一桌台灣創意饗宴！結果現場湧入約5千人，大大超越主辦單位的估計，事後為了大樓維安而延遲參觀者進入主辦單位為此也深感抱歉。

《福爾摩沙秀》希望透過展覽的方式，將台灣藝術與設計的作品在倫敦中凸顯《福爾摩沙》的精神和靈魂，給予藝術與設計領域的舞台，為台灣藝術&設計創造出一個平台，將福爾摩沙帶進英國與全球。

福爾摩沙在今年開始了一系列為台灣藝術家與設計師籌備的展覽與活動，2011將參加九月份倫敦設計週.，若您已經在業界工作、畢業、應屆畢業、或是在學學生的任何課程，歡迎您的加入

福爾摩沙秀將給在英國的台灣藝術家與設計師提供一個在倫敦展出的平台，包含所有策展以及宣傳等。我們期待從不同的藝術設計領域、在學學院以及科系中選出共同或相似概念的作品。目前展場與日期正在洽談中，最有可能在九月中舉行。我們誠摯的邀請你參加福爾摩沙秀，在開幕當天，我們將邀請倫敦的畫廊、評論、媒體、藝術與設計顧問、以及業界相關人士，我們希望提供台灣藝術與設計一個與業界接觸與合作的機會。

Bubble Tea Café Launches in Soho in April

April sees the launch of Bubbleology, the specialized Bubble Tea café located in the heart of trend-setting Soho on Rupert Street. Bubble Tea is set to be the newest tea craze to hit our shores, with a huge following already in Chinatown NYC and throughout the USA, Australia, Canada and all of Asia.

Originating in Taiwan in the 80-ies from a mere stall in Taipei’s night market, the drink has become so popular that there are now over 8000 Bubble Tea cafes alone in the country. Served warm or cool, Bubble Tea drinks have a red, white or green tea base which are infused with delicious fruit flavourings, with the unique and hugely addictive addition of Tapioca pearls at the bottom. These Tapioca pearls, ‘Boba,’ have an almost ‘gummy bear’ texture, being zero fat with a delicious caramel undertone and become infused with the flavour of the tea itself.

Walking into the Bubbleology store, guests will feel like they have been transported to a mad scientist’s lab. With fun black and neon décor, exposed brickwork and scientific diagrams explaining the bubble tea creation process, guests will be served by the trained ‘Bubbleologists’ dressed in wacky lab coats.

The fruit based teas are made with green or red tea, and come in the following flavours: Lychee, Green Apple, Strawberry, Passion Fruit, Mango—Green Tea, Kumquat and Ginger—Red Tea. The milk-teas, are more akin to a fun milk-shake, and will come in the following flavours: Taro, Coconut, Almond, Cocoa, Vanilla, and Honeydew. The teas are priced at £2.95 for standard and £3.35 for extra large cups.

Packaged in over-sized transparent cups, the ‘Boba Pearls’ are clearly visible at the bottom of the drink, and a large brightly coloured straw is included to suck these up. The Taiwanese were also pioneers of a specially designed ‘Sealing’ machine, which seals the top of the cup with a unique plastic cover. Bubbleology have imported one of these unique machines, having specially crafted the design of the seal.

Walking into the Bubbleology store, guests will feel like they have been transported to a mad scientist’s lab. Plug in X Add on: a rehearsal of potential connections between two cities” Taiwan Contemporary Art Exhibition

“Plug in X Add on” offers the UK an exclusive look at the Taiwanese contemporary art scene, introducing young artists who were mostly born in the late ’70s and early ’80s, a time when Taiwan made the transition from manufacturing to high-tech industries.

“Plug in X Add on” is a concept that is inspired by computing pract⋯⋯ice, enabling third-party developers to transform and extend the function of host applications. Using such concept, the exhibition observes and experiments with the way young artists connect and adapt themselves to different cultures, societies and politics.

英國的蘇格蘭環境保護署(Scottish Environment Protection Agency,SEPA)負責處理輻射物質的官員今天(29)日表示，英國已經偵測到有放射性碘元素的痕跡，相信這是來自日本福島的核電廠輻射外洩；不過，官員表示，這些放射碘含量很低，不會對大眾或環境構成威脅。

蘇格蘭環保官員是在日本核電廠出現問題之後，加強檢驗空氣品質，並且從格拉斯哥(Glasgow)的空氣採樣中，驗出含有微量放射碘。

除了英國以外，冰島和瑞士等歐洲國家，都傳出驗得低含量的放射性碘。

當年九二一地震，日本民眾踴躍捐助台灣來自國際聯合會十幾億新台幣捐款中，九億元即來自日本紅十字會轉達日本民眾的愛心幫助了台中縣福民國小、新社大林國小、古坑華山國小…近十所學校及當地衛生室之重建工程，並改善社區公衛建設；而莫拉克風災，日本紅十字會更援建七十一萬美金南投縣名間鄉基地29戶房舍之重建，愛心福澤災區。
日本正在遭受二戰以來，最嚴重的危機，在遭遇毀滅性的地震和海嘯以後，日本正在面臨核危機。同居地球村的我們，當基於人溺己溺的精神伸出援手，幫助災區的人民。在英國的我們更呼籲民眾捐款濟助日本，匯聚愛心，以實際行動傳達對於災區居民的關懷，這次義演旨在為籌集善款，所有的售票所得，都將捐給Japan Society Tohoku EarthquakeRelief Fund。
由LSE 日本學生社團發起在23日星期四晚間舉行倫敦區聯合勸募”幫助日本-慈善樂團義演”活動- 為日本災後重建籌募經費，活動當天邀請了英國當地樂團B-Dub, The K-Shaped Rooms, Sudanese Playboys, Chima Anya,ELECTRIXCITY共同為這次的活動進行義演，同時也是首次在倫敦區集結了中國,香港,台灣,日本…等亞洲社團團體以及各大小不同的社群共同支持協助。

請大家伸出援手，幫助災區的人民。這次義演旨在為籌集善款，所有的售票所得，都將捐給Japan Society Tohoku EarthquakeRelief Fund。
