UK premiere of “Exit No. 6” will held at the University of Cambridge
The Taipei Representative Office in the UK, in conjunction with the University of Cambridge, is pleased to invite you to the UK premiere of the film “Exit No. 6” at the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at 2.00pm on Thursday the 18th of March 2010.
The premiere of “Exit No. 6” will be followed by a Q&A session with the director, Lin Yu-hsien. Director Lin has worked as an assistant director and production manager for commercial films and music video productions. “Exit No. 6” is his first feature film. It is a movie that serves as a voice for today’s youth. The 6th exit of Xi Men Ding tube station in Taipei is a place where anything can happen – it fuses culture, architecture and people, both old and new. The youth of Taiwan is under extreme social pressure. Where is their exit? Let us find it together.
In addition to this event, Director Lin will attend “Sorry! I Love you”, the opening night film of the Taiwan Cinefest 2010 at Riverside Studios on the 17th of March, as well as the film-makers workshop following director Lin’s popular documentary “Jump Boys” at Goldsmiths College on the 19th of March.

來自台灣的英國皇家藝術學院畢業生廖人暉，受邀於倫敦維多利亞與艾伯特博物館表演作品「The Self Portrait Machine Projec /自畫像機計劃」。
2009年畢業於Royal College of Art (RCA)的年輕設計師廖人暉，受邀至倫敦知名博物館Victoria &Albert Museum (V&A)為該館最新的數位藝術展覽-Decode做周末作品演出。他表示這次受邀為V&A表演的設計,是他於去年在RCA畢業的藝術創作- The Self Portrait Machine Project/自畫像機計劃，該計劃去年九月也曾受邀於倫敦設計週展示。此計劃是一個從人與機器互動合作自畫像的方式，讓參觀者體會與思考人類與工業化社會之間的緊密合作關係是如何的塑造了我們的意識與生活，甚至是影響了理論中應該最原創並完整的個人自我意識。
廖人暉表示該表演機會是非常幸運且難得的機會，能夠在建立超過一個半世紀的 V&A表演，更難能可貴的是，博物館願意提供雕塑藝術走廊作為期三天的表演場地，讓參觀者能在博物館收藏的文藝復興期中大理石雕像群中，與十分現代且機械感的自畫像機互動。如此珍貴的場地，不僅能提供跨越數百年時空與文明演進的想像，並藉此人們與藝術互動，刺激人們對於自身存在意義的探究。

Designer from Taiwan invited to perform in V&A, London
A young designer, Jen-hui Liao who graduated from the Royal College of Art last year, is invited to show his art project as part of weekend events of new exhibition- Decode in Victoria & Albert Museum . The Self Portrait Machine Project which was also shown in 2009 London digital design week is an art project focus on how we hu ma n cooperate with the modern industria li zed society to create our self-identity in li fe. By cooperating with the movement from ma chine, visitors create a self-drawn portrait but from external ma chine’s point of view and sign by the ma chine named Geppetto.
The perfor ma nce will take place in V&A on 26th-28th of February in sculpture gallery 22 amount ma rble portrait sculptures from renaissance. Jen-hui says: it is a very rear opportunity to have such a great space for modern digital art perfor ma nce. It ma kes visitors able to i ma ge how we hu ma n see ourselves in the culture evolution process.

I’m currently looking for film makers across the globe to film footage of ‘pedestrian and crossings’ from other countries. These will contribute towards a ‘Global Traffic Light’ I am producing as public Art event happening across the centre of London during March 2010.

It would be greatly appreciated it you were able to film five to ten minutes footage of pedestrian crossing’s in your country, I will pay for all expense and send you a copy of the final event in London.
The Global traffic light will aim to cause people think twice about the development of the world before crossing the road. The ‘Global Traffic Light’ will timed to be in sync with the real traffic lights, and will change colour as to indicate to people when to cross the road.

我來英學生應隨時注意個人安全，在英期間如發生意外事故，應即請同學、友人、校方或警方人員就近給予立即之協助，或撥打本處緊急電話。
近兩年來英國經濟情況不佳，我來英學生穿著、舉止、消費方式，有時無端引發無業/無聊英人側目。日前一位來英訪友之年輕女學生，單獨一人於下午時間，在某市區河邊散步，遭不明年輕白人男子持尖刀亂剌殺傷，該男子即遭路人與警方扭送法庭，以蓄意謀殺人、搶奪重罪起訴，受害人經送醫急救後出院。但身上、脖子、臉部傷痕累累，財物損失不貲。
本處再度呼籲來英年輕學子，尤其女同學上課、課外外出、參訪活動均應集體進行，或至少與友人同行，不可單獨行動。身上不帶鉅額現金、現金應存入銀行，避免單身前往酒吧，不搭乘陌生人車，夜間不到人少之處所，治安不佳地區尤應避免深夜前往。
一旦發生意外事故，特別注意證據之保全不可破壞現場，並應立即報警處理，如有語言困難，可洽請房東或學校人員就近給予立即之協助，或撥打本處緊急電話。
來英後應即向國內家人報平安，並告知住宿住址、屋主姓名、電話，並應查察住家學校附近警察電話與地址。與寄宿家庭保持良好互動，自已亦應注意住處門窗是否牢靠，門鎖是否齊全，若有疑慮應通知學校人員，並即要求房東改善。
來英遊學應選信譽可靠之遊學中心安排學校宿舍，倘需借住寄宿家庭，則應注意人身及財務安全。遊學者並應到領務局網站進入各地區暨各國旅遊資訊網頁，詳讀英國旅遊資訊http://www.boca.gov.tw/content.asp?CuItem=867&mp=1。
